Cetius, Altius, Fortius, Captiosus

The Olympic motto hendiatris Citius, Altius, Fortius was proposed by Pierre de Coubertin who borrowed it from his friend Henri Didon, a Dominican priest who was as athletics enthusiast. Citius, Altius, Fortius is a Latin term for Faster, Higher, Stronger. A term that has transcended  time . The ageless term that has always fascinated, inspired, motivated and captured the desire of all the sportsmen across the world. The term that has become the finishing line of the marathon of every player’s life. A force that has been driving every passion and dream of an  Olympian.

The present age is of Captiosus – Latin term for smart. Smart was, smart is and smart will always be in demand, be it gadgets or people. And why not when SMART stands for Sanguine, Magnanimous, Aesthetical, Radiant, Tallented. But todays Millennials often mistake smartness to only looking beautiful. As a result a lot of time and money is spent rather wasted in gyms, parlours, fitness class etc. that fetches only external beauty. It is no doubt a part of a good personality but not the only. The mental and spiritual beauty and happiness can only be drawn from family who are often neglected or rather ignored. Today’s Millennials are indeed  excelling in raising  bunglows  but at the same time failing to hold a family or home.

Whenever I stand before my students, they rush to wish me and seek my blessings that moment takes me to cloud nine. But it saddens me when I hear from my fellow-mates how they have to struggle with their students. My journey in this school as the head has been a very blissful one. Thanks to my students who have never let me down. I wish and pray every school is blessed  with such students.

We all have tremendous potential in us and  being aware of it is just what is needed. As the mobile companies keep launching new handsets with new features every time, likewise we  too need to launch ourselves with a new feature or quality of ours frequently. Keep your smartness fragrant and florescent  so that  its smell and light spread far and wide.

Every year the school gives a bountiful gift of students to society all prepared to serve the country. With every passing out batch we are rejuvenated to prepare the new ones and the journey goes on.

Holy Cross Senior Secondary School, Byron Bazar is managed by the Pallottine Fathers and Brothers, officially known as the Society of the Catholic Apostolate, a religious institution founded in Rome by St. Vincent Pallotti in the year 1835. St. Vincent Pallotti was an Italian Catholic Priest whose essential teaching was to spread the message of love and service to the whole humanity. Today, the Organization has spread all over the world which is the result of commitment of the members to the original vision of the founder, St. Vincent Pallotti.
